Not Like Other Surfboard Leashes
It costs us a little more money to produce them with recycled plastic (you think it would be cheaper, but it's not), but we didn't care about the cost because it's our damn planet we are talking about here.
The recycled plastic is used to make the urethane cord in the production process, the technical components are all made from new molds, and the combined result is excellent.
Strong Like Bull Eco Leash
We know that leashes aren't super sexy, and you don't think much about buying them until you need one and then you likely grab one at the surf shop when you get your wax.
But we would suggest you take a step back and be a bit more thoughtful and consider a different choice, the eco choice.
We created Wave Tribe to tackle these challenging questions. We think about how we could make every product a surfer uses just a little bit earth-friendlier. This is Wave Tribe's mission.
We asked the hard questions and created a product that you can use and feel good about every time you surf. It's also strong AF, and we stand behind our quality and guarantee to send you a free leash if you break it in the first year.
That's when we started making leashes with recycled plastic pellets—see the process in the graphic above.
Wave Tribe's Mission
Wave Tribe's mission is to create asymbiotic relationship between mother ocean, planet, and surfing while traveling the world searching for tasty waves.
We invite like-minded surfers to envision an ocean that is clean, clear, and plastic-free in our journey.
Please see ourHeal The Oceanscampaign for more information on how we can work together to create a healthier planet.
Tested & Passed
Here is the deal—you want your leash to stretch at the most critical moments but always return to you. In this test, we pulled tried to pull a van across a parking lot and then watched as the leash came back to its original length.
Paul said of this leash,
"I can't believe how far this thing stretched, I was surfing double overhead Patoles this year and when I went over the falls I thought for sure it was going to snap. This leash saved my board from the rocks."
