Surf Travel

There’s more to Mexico than sombreros, enchiladas, and tequila. Some of the biggest surfable waves in the Americas can be found on the Pacific coast of mainland Mexico.
Driving though those dirt road towns that felt like the wild west, I would always be transported to a mythical time—at the very least I would be able to surf some sick waves without tons of OC kooks in the line-up (no offense to you if you live in the OC, that's where I grew up).
Pascuales spits like a dragon and swells slam the coast, twisting and raging as it unleashes it's deepest inner desire to be free. It's a crazy wave and one of the heaviest I have surfed in the world. Every time I go I get a new lesson. A new hold down. A new appreciation for the ocean and life itself.
Located in mainland Mexico at the entrance to the Sea of Cortez, the area is a magnet for south and southwest swells. Ranging from hollow A-frame beach breaks to incredible world class point breaks, surfers of all ability levels will get a thrill of a lifetime—or at lest Mexico-time. The point breaks offer truly remarkable waves that can wrap for more than 500 yards. This wave can be both a hollow and thumpy—offering some barrel time and fast shoulders to race into the inside.
Buddhism, Surfing & Sinaloa. Everyone said I shouldn’t go. “It’s dangerous down there right now,” they told me. In fact, 2 Australian surfers died just a few miles from where we were going.
Surfing Jalisco Mexico is quite a phenomenal experience. The Jalisco region of Mexico contains a long series of beach breaks, river mouths, and the occasional reef, stretching from Puerto Vallarta in the north to the border of Michoacan in the south.
Surfing Nayarit Mexico. Surf spots in Mexico are El Faro, Lola's, Punta Mita, San Blas and more. How's the weather and how to get there? Where to stay in Nayarit Mexico? This is your surf trip guide with maps.
